Abstract

The Louise Imogen Guiney collection, 1889-1914, contains photographs, poems, letters, a pamphlet, a newspaper, and souvenirs belonging to the Catholic poet and essayist. Louise Imogen Guiney was born January 7, 1861 in Roxbury, Massachusetts to an Irish-born, Catholic father and American mother. She was raised in the Catholic faith and wrote celebrated poems, essays, and verses inspired by her religious beliefs.

Abstract The Sister Maura Eichner collection of Samuel Hazo materials, 1961-1972, consists of books of poetry, original manuscripts, magazines, and letters sent by Hazo to Sister Maura Eichner at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. Sister Maura Eichner was born May 5, 1915 in New York City. She entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1933 and professed vows in 1936.
